Lyons - Shady Acres

80+ unit GPON fibre build

Lyons Shady Acres is OpenTier’s first fibre project, which went live in July 2024.

Residents were pleasantly surprised that our contractors were able to connect every home with minimal disruption to their properties.

We built a carrier-grade, scalable network design so new homes can be added at any time without impacting existing service.

We added a second Internet feed to add extra reliability in the event our primary connection is disrupted.

Sandusk Creek Properties

160+ unit GPON fibre build

Formerly known as Shelter Cove, Sandusk Creek Properties now has over 160 homes connected.

We designed and built a carrier-grade, scalable network that allows new homes to be added at any time without disruption.

To protect existing infrastructure and minimize surface damage, OpenTier invested in a horizontal drilling machine, enabling us to safely cross paved driveways and underground utilities.

We also provisioned a 10 Gbps backbone so capacity will not be a limitation as the community grows, and we added a backup connection to ensure essential services remain online even if the primary fibre feed is ever cut.

John Bayus Park

140+ unit GPON fibre build

John Bayus Park was founded by the Bayus family on 100 acres of land they once farmed, and it is still proudly owned and operated by the family today.

In 2024, John Bayus Park celebrated its 50th anniversary—and as of summer 2025, the entire park is now connected with fibre Internet from OpenTier.

To further increase reliability, we’ve added wireless redundancy throughout the network. This backup connectivity, delivered by OpenTier’s wireless division and partners, helps ensure residents stay online even if the park’s primary connection experiences an interruption.
